Over 40 Basking sharks with us just yesterday

Basking Sharks are the second largest fish in the world and are summer visitors to these waters

For the last week we have had fantastic sightings of Basking Sharks. Just yesterday we were surrounded by over 40 sharks, there were fins as far as the eye could see!

We had one particular shark that came very close to the boat, and gave us all the opportunity to take some fantastic photos of it swimming through the plankton rich sea with its mouth wide open!

Basking Sharks are fish, and feed on microscopic plankton, so they are no threat to humans!

We also managed to get some photos of one of the sharks with only half a dorsal fin.
