Bottlenose dolphin swims around ’Wild Free’ at anchor! | Whilst Lewis was cooking our freshly caught Mackerel, a bottlenose dolphin swam up to us and seemed to be attraced by the boat, or the barbeque! We took as many photos as we could with the ID (identification) camera, and noted a range of scars on its dorsal fin. All the passengers on board got the opportunity of getting into the rib and having the the dolphin bowride beneath them, covering them in spray as it leapt from the water, incredible! Until we can look very closely at the images we are not sure, but one theory suggests that the dolphin is infact ’sparkle’. This dolphin was seen for many years with its mother around the coast of Coll and Tiree before they both were not seen for a couple of years. ’Sparkle was fascinated with both the boat, the passengers on board, and the anchor chain! On a number of occasions it seemed to just ’sit’ in the water, facing down, looking at the anchor! | ![]() | ||||||||||||||||||||
