Sula Beag – On board

Alpha Beta

Sula Beag is an exceptionally well-equipped and maintained motor vessel. She is heavily constructed of steel in 1985. She is fifty feet long, displaces twenty five tonnes, and has fantastic sea keeping qualities. During the winter of 2007/8 she is being completely renovated from the deck up, keeping the onboard standards high for your comfort.

Powered by twin Dawoo 125 horse power diesels Sula Beag has a cruising speed of 8 knots. She carries enough fuel to cover over 1,000 miles, more than enough to cover the area we operate in safely.

She is coded to the highest standard by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency with a Class 6 Passenger Certificate. This enable us to carry up to 40 passengers in comfort.

There is comfortable seating for up to sixteen passengers on the upper deck and seating for all on the lower deck, we just rotate so that you can have the chance to help us hunt for wildlife on top deck, or rest and relax on the lower deck. The fly bridge (upper deck) provides you with an extra bit of height enabling you to spot more wildlife, whilst keeping you relaxed. In the saloon there is a range of books for your entertainment, bird guides, whale identification charts, flaura and fauna, and so on.
